4th Stage Oligarchy

4th Stage Oligarchy

You may  have seen  me use this label on any number of “political” posts on face book. Yes. It is a comparative reference to 4th Stage Cancer – when the malignancy has progressed to a point where little can be done to the system to save it.

Stage IV. This stage means that the cancer has spread to other organs or parts of the body. It may also be called advanced or metastatic cancer. http://www.cancer.net/navigating-cancer-care/diagnosing-cancer/stages-cancer

America Died

Yes. I call it  “4th Stage Oligarchy”. This death of Democracy in America. We all know it. Everybody knows…

“Everybody Knows”

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
That’s how it goes
Everybody knows

Then this from Neal Gabler from Bill Moyers and Company Nov 10, 2016.

Farewell, America

No matter how the rest of the world looked at us on Nov. 7, they will now look at us differently.

Nothing new, really. Wisconsin’s own Fighting Bob Lafollette warned of trusts and “combined capital interests” control of money and credit. The moniker “4th Stage Oligarchy”, Fighting Bob referred to  as The Fourth Period – The Combination of Combinations. “The strife for more money, more power – more power, more money – swept everything before it.     – From a speech delivered in Philadelphia, Feb. 2, 1912.

The threat has been ever present since the Industrial Revolution, and to give you a “feel” for that distance in time here is a speech by Fighting Bob delivered in 1910. Remember this speech on film was the cutting edge of technology at the time!

Trump, His Virus and Dark Age of Unreason

– By Bill Moyers and Michael Winship June 16, 2016

There’s a virus infecting our politics and right now it’s flourishing with a scarlet heat. It feeds on fear, paranoia and bigotry. All that was required for it to spread was a timely opportunity — and an opportunist with no scruples.
There have been stretches of history when this virus lay dormant. Sometimes it would flare up here and there, then fade away after a brief but fierce burst of fever. At other moments, it has spread with the speed of a firestorm, a pandemic consuming everything in its path, sucking away the oxygen of democracy and freedom. http://billmoyers.com/story/trump-virus-dark-age-unreason/

We are in a new era every bit as haunting and dark as an episode of the Twilight Zone, and is it any wonder how the truth stirs the subconscious before the conscious mind? Thus the popularity of “Walking Dead”?

Mary Easter

Mary Easter is not a typo.

Do not lay down any rules beyond what I appointed you, and do not give a law like the lawgiver lest you be constrained by it.

Mary Easter is just a headline to provoke an intriguing glimpse into the Gospel of Mary Magdala. What kind of Christianity may have been developed if the writings by which the Bible was formed had been edited differently?

Many of the texts that were interpreted by editing various writings that existed over fifteen hundred years ago have come to light in recent years. One of the most interesting is the the Gospel of Mary Magdala. The picture below is a split and mirror image a fragment from the page from her Gospel.

Fewer than eight pages of the ancient papyrus text survive, which means that about half of the Gospel of Mary is lost to us, perhaps forever.

Gospel Mary2

It is important to remember that these first Christians had no New Testament, no Nicene Creed or Apostles Creed, no commonly established church order or chain of authority, no church buildings, and indeed no single understanding of Jesus. All of the elements we might consider to be essential to define Christianity did not yet exist. Far from being starting points, the Nicene creed and the New Testament were the end products of these debates and disputes; they represent the distillation of experience and experimentation—and not a small amount of strife and struggle.

Gospel of Mary, along with other newly discovered works from the earliest Christian period, increases our knowledge of the enormous diversity and dynamic character of the processes by which Christianity was shaped. The goal of this volume is to let twenty-first-century readers hear one of those voices—not in order to drown out the voices of canon and tradition, but in order that they might be heard with the greater clarity that comes with a broadened historical perspective. Whether or not the message of the Gospel of Mary should be embraced is a matter readers will decide for themselves. The Gospel of Mary

Chapter 4

(Pages 1 to 6 of the manuscript, containing chapters 1 – 3, are lost. The extant text starts on page 7…)

. . . Will matter then be destroyed or not?

22) The Savior said, All nature, all formations, all creatures exist in and with one another, and they will be resolved again into their own roots.

23) For the nature of matter is resolved into the roots of its own nature alone.

24) He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

25) Peter said to him, Since you have explained everything to us, tell us this also: What is the sin of the world?

26) The Savior said There is no sin, but it is you who make sin when you do the things that are like the nature of adultery, which is called sin.

27) That is why the Good came into your midst, to the essence of every nature in order to restore it to its root.

28) Then He continued and said, That is why you become sick and die, for you are deprived of the one who can heal you.

29) He who has a mind to understand, let him understand.

30) Matter gave birth to a passion that has no equal, which proceeded from something contrary to nature. Then there arises a disturbance in its whole body.

31) That is why I said to you, Be of good courage, and if you are discouraged be encouraged in the presence of the different forms of nature.

32) He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

33) When the Blessed One had said this, He greeted them all, saying, Peace be with you. Receive my peace unto yourselves.

34) Beware that no one lead you astray saying Lo here or lo there! For the Son of Man is within you.

35) Follow after Him!

36) Those who seek Him will find Him.

37) Go then and preach the gospel of the Kingdom.

38) Do not lay down any rules beyond what I appointed you, and do not give a law like the lawgiver lest you be constrained by it.

39) When He said this He departed.

Chapter 5

1) But they were grieved. They wept greatly, saying, How shall we go to the Gentiles and preach the gospel of the Kingdom of the Son of Man? If they did not spare Him, how will they spare us?

2) Then Mary stood up, greeted them all, and said to her brethren, Do not weep and do not grieve nor be irresolute, for His grace will be entirely with you and will protect you.

3) But rather, let us praise His greatness, for He has prepared us and made us into Men.

4) When Mary said this, she turned their hearts to the Good, and they began to discuss the words of the Savior.

5) Peter said to Mary, Sister we know that the Savior loved you more than the rest of woman.

6) Tell us the words of the Savior which you remember which you know, but we do not, nor have we heard them.

7) Mary answered and said, What is hidden from you I will proclaim to you.

8) And she began to speak to them these words: I, she said, I saw the Lord in a vision and I said to Him, Lord I saw you today in a vision. He answered and said to me,

9) Blessed are you that you did not waver at the sight of Me. For where the mind is there is the treasure.

10) I said to Him, Lord, how does he who sees the vision see it, through the soul or through the spirit?

11) The Savior answered and said, He does not see through the soul nor through the spirit, but the mind that is between the two that is what sees the vision and it is […]

(pages 11 – 14 are missing from the manuscript)

Chapter 8:

. . . it.

10) And desire said, I did not see you descending, but now I see you ascending. Why do you lie since you belong to me?

11) The soul answered and said, I saw you. You did not see me nor recognize me. I served you as a garment and you did not know me.

12) When it said this, it (the soul) went away rejoicing greatly.

13) Again it came to the third power, which is called ignorance.

14) The power questioned the soul, saying, Where are you going? In wickedness are you bound. But you are bound; do not judge!

15) And the soul said, Why do you judge me, although I have not judged?

16) I was bound, though I have not bound.

17) I was not recognized. But I have recognized that the All is being dissolved, both the earthly things and the heavenly.

18) When the soul had overcome the third power, it went upwards and saw the fourth power, which took seven forms.

19) The first form is darkness, the second desire, the third ignorance, the fourth is the excitement of death, the fifth is the kingdom of the flesh, the sixth is the foolish wisdom of flesh, the seventh is the wrathful wisdom. These are the seven powers of wrath.

20) They asked the soul, Whence do you come slayer of men, or where are you going, conqueror of space?

21) The soul answered and said, What binds me has been slain, and what turns me about has been overcome,

22) and my desire has been ended, and ignorance has died.

23) In a aeon I was released from a world, and in a Type from a type, and from the fetter of oblivion which is transient.

24) From this time on will I attain to the rest of the time, of the season, of the aeon, in silence.

Chapter 9

1) When Mary had said this, she fell silent, since it was to this point that the Savior had spoken with her.

2) But Andrew answered and said to the brethren, Say what you wish to say about what she has said. I at least do not believe that the Savior said this. For certainly these teachings are strange ideas.

3) Peter answered and spoke concerning these same things.

4) He questioned them about the Savior: Did He really speak privately with a woman and not openly to us? Are we to turn about and all listen to her? Did He prefer her to us?

5) Then Mary wept and said to Peter, My brother Peter, what do you think? Do you think that I have thought this up myself in my heart, or that I am lying about the Savior?

6) Levi answered and said to Peter, Peter you have always been hot tempered.

7) Now I see you contending against the woman like the adversaries.

8) But if the Savior made her worthy, who are you indeed to reject her? Surely the Savior knows her very well.

9) That is why He loved her more than us. Rather let us be ashamed and put on the perfect Man, and separate as He commanded us and preach the gospel, not laying down any other rule or other law beyond what the Savior said.

10) And when they heard this they began to go forth to proclaim and to preach.

The heartbreak of "Affluenza"

Affluenza – the dogged pursuit of more

The term appears to have been coined back in 1954 by a family foundation, but it was popularized into a film and best selling book by Vivia Boe and John de Graaf in 1997. But, the term “Affluenza” rose back from the dead last week when it was used a defense for a rich kid’s excuse for killing four people while driving drunk.

The Affluenza Defense: Judge Rules Rich Kid’s Rich Kid-ness Makes Him Not Liable for Deadly Drunk Driving Accident

By Madison Gray @madisonjgray Dec. 12, 2013 Time

He got 10 years probation for causing a wreck that devastated three families

The Keller, Tex., 16-year-old has a rare condition that a judge believes is best remedied with anything but dealing with the consequences for causing a DWI wreck that killed four people, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Couch suffers from “affluenza,” according to his lawyers, a term which means that his wealthy parents pretty much let him get away with everything. The defense saved him from a 20-year sentence; State District Judge Jean Boyd bought it at his sentencing on Tuesday and gave Couch probation instead.

Break out of “New Normal Affluenza”

The wealthy are killing us for our own good

Being taken advantage of by all those “corporate people” is just something we less- advantaged folk must put up with. bernie-IphoneSo, what if your loved ones are run over by a wealthy drunk kid? You must take into consideration all the difficulties of being rich. What about all of the trials those “corporate people” must go through in order to provide you with all the “goodies” that surround your life?

Sometimes a single instance erupts to become the prophecy of an age and now, affluenza has arrived as a mutated super virus what will not respond to the antibiotic of common sense or justice. In its first outbreak way back in 1954 it was a loose term to define wealth in general, in 1997 it described the overload, debt, and waste involved in the pursuit of wealth. Today, in the latest ugly outbreak, the virulent strain arrives as an excuse for greed, and a rationalization form vehicular homicide.

Early warning signs often include the exhibition of Scrooge-like behavior. An example might be foreclosing on the local Building and Loan just before Christmas. Bah humbug! Garlic eaters! Of course, the very fortunate victims are those who have “earned it the hard way”. (You know, like the Koch Brothers who inherited their billions from their Daddy.)

Symptoms often include some form of fantasy with the most prevalent delusion that all human beings are gifted in exactly the same way at birth. So, it follows that any lacking encountered over the course of life is always the fault of the victim – laziness, irresponsibility, lagging, loafing, lethargic behavior.

During frequent periods of delusion, the affluenza sufferer is quick to point out these lazy people cannot be helped through the government (the democratic community) with any financial aid. No, they will say, this will soon become “an entitlement”. Typical dialogues of this delusion are characterized by tirades such as, “Helping these lazy people will lead to their permanent dependency.” and “They will lie and cheat to get big screen TV’s.”, and “I saw one purchase lobster tail dinners with food stamps!”.

The latest strain has been labeled “New Normal Afluenza” and has attacked the neurological function of pathwaysAffluenza to the brain in a pattern very similar to a sociopath – a person without ability to feel compassion to another human being. Thus, as has been demonstrated by the judge in the drunk driving case, victims of NNA lack the common sense of emotional unity of one person to another and will make irrational decisions that seek to provide for their own wealth or that of an intimate other wealthy person.

The danger is that victims of NNA are in positions of power in business and government by the very nature of their disease. They are filthy rich. They believe that attainment of wealth is the ultimate yardstick of human success and dedicate every waking hour to attaining power and wealth. Once the afflicted are in power across a wide spectrum of corporate and government organizational fronts, the majority of the people become victims of the new sick leaders at the top.

Medical professionals suggest that a look at the distribution of wealth over a period of years is a good indicator as to how widespread the disease may be on the national scale. When a small percentage of people control over one half the total wealth of a financial community, it may be assumed that NNA is at epidemic proportions.

If you like your President you can keep him

The “Yes we can!”, stocks are falling sharply

In the brave new world of media minestrone mania, the American Presidency is little more than a political product with an ever dwindling shelf life. Obama’s popularity numbers have fallen. Many media mega minds are quick to add that his favorability is as low as George W. Bush at the same point in his presidency, and that his trustworthiness had fallen from 52% to 44%. Gee, you would think he started two wars and tanked the economy.

Barack Obama Approval Rating Gallup
Obama’s Approval Rating Has Dipped Into Dangerously Low Territory
Business Insider Brett LoGiurato Nov. 5, 2013

President Barack Obama’s approval rating has dipped a point to 39%, according to the latest Gallup daily tracking poll — dangerous waters for a president still in the first year of his second term.

The 39% mark is a point lower in Gallup’s three-day rolling average. Obama’s disapproval held steady at 53%.

The roll out of a three day rolling average. Oh my!

Have you ever noticed that any political nuance on any given day seems to carry equal weight of emotion and drama?healthwethere3 Any political battle like the health care web site problems or a crack smoking Toronto Mayor, can immediately be reduced to past history by breaking news of an air disaster or a mass shooting. So goes the drama machine moving from one conflict to another, while training the cameras and microphones on victims, villains, hither and yon across the wide world, bringing the once-in-a-lifetime spot light to the story tellers and eye witnesses – unless you are the President of the United States. The President is expected to address any and all major disasters – natural or violent. He or she is or will be expected to define and orchestrate foreign and domestic policy.

Here is the headline that did not splash the front page of newspapers in late August.

Obama Strikes Syria

The man who has been compared to and depicted as Hitler, who has been publicly called a socialist and a communist, and who has been belittled and disregarded as having no right to his office since he was not born in America – this man did not order a immediate strike on Syria. It is easy to imagine that John McCann or any number of republicans would have made a strike of retribution and opened the door to a Pandora’s box of circumstance costing American blood and treasure. Obama did not make that call. As a result we are not at war but pursuing a completely different diplomatic path.

As human beings look at the political scene, it seems to be their nature to view the glass as less than half full or nearly empty. This negativity toward anything “Obama” is expected from conservatives who have openly promised to obstruct this President at every turn. But, progressives must tread softly before adding to the eternal swell of hatred toward this President and take a close look at the total glass full of Obama’s efforts and policies.

Obamacare decision time for Democrats: Fight or flight

Politico By ALEXANDER BURNS and KATIE GLUECK | 11/13/13

A White House under siege. A signature policy initiative turning into an embarrassing public spectacle. Dissent within the president’s own party that threatens to turn into a full-blown revolt.

Now, the voices of congressional leaders and former Presidents, who embarked on the long journey that began “oh” so many months ago, feel restless and anxious. They whine from the back seat, “Are we there yet?” – “Can we stop now” with every passing mile. The adults keep assuring them, “Just a few more miles.”

The journey is long. The planning and preparation began years ago and with a few false starts, and even trips that ended with flat tires, and engine trouble. This is it. Hey kids, we really are almost there. Look at the map or the hand held device and see the long, long line back to where we started on a Christmas Eve past. Hey kids, we decided on this journey for a reason. It is more than just another law or legislative initiative. It is a dream of many great leaders who did not live to see the destination just a few miles ahead. We are moving to a place that is a shift in a paradigm of government, a shift from corporate control to put the wheel in the hands of the people. This is why the obstruction of vested interests and lobbyists has been so long and strong.

Grab a cliche and sing it, “Don’t leave before the miracle.” – “It is darkest before the dawn.” “Ask not what Obama can do for you, ask rather what you can do for Obama.”

Let’s just do this.

Walker is off to campaign for Cuchinelli

Scott Walker’s travels, security, and other high-maintenance life style expenses now cost the taxpayers of Wisconsin an estimated $1,498 per hour (8 hr. day) Part of those costs are the result of his frequent flyer miles out-of-state which have been conservatively estimated at $192 per day. Today he is off to Virgina on a ulta-sonic flight to to join Rand Paul in a crusade for Ken Cushenelli in the final days of his failing campaign for governor.

Ken Cuccinelli Is Amazed God Hasn’t Punished America For Abortion

By Laura Bassett Posted: 10/15/201

But in his speech to the Christian Life Summit last year — unearthed Monday night by NBC12 — Cuccinelli said he is surprised that God has not yet “imposed” more judgment on America for allowing abortion to be legal.

“Really, given that God does judge nations, it’s amazing that abortion has run as far and foully as it has, without what I would consider to be a greater imposition of judgment on this country,” Cuccinelli said. “Who knows what the future holds?”

At a time when the Catholic Church is moving toward a more compassionate tone of religiosity under the guidance of Pope Francis, the Cuccinelli’s and Walker’s of the world remind us of the words of a more ruthless voice in their mind that they choose to call God.

Cuccinelli’s god is about to reign down punishment for abortion, while Walker’s god comes to him in times when he is tempted to bring out baseball bats to hammer the heads of union thugs. The baseball bat threat was delivered during the prank phone call in February 2011, well into the showdown between the new Republican governor of Wisconsin and the public sector unions. Ian Murphy, the editor of the Buffalo Beast, called Walker’s office pretending to be donor/industrialist David Koch.

He talk’s about his “special religiosity” in his book.

God’s Co-Pilot

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker sees divine intervention in key moments of his political career.
By David Weigel Oct. 25

He (Walker) doesn’t mention the baseball bat at all, skipping right ahead to the press conference called to clean up the mess. Walker only took four questions as protesters chanted at a decibel level that rammed right through the office doors. “Only later did I realize that God had a plan for me with that episode,” writes Walker. After his press conference, he picked up his daily devotional and saw the title for Feb. 23: The power of humility, the burden of pride.

Rand Paul just gets his voice from Wiki

Rand Paul Plagiarized Speech From Wikipedia, Rachel Maddow Says

The Huffington Post

Did Rand Paul plagiarize his speech from Wikipedia? It sure seems that way, as Rachel Maddow pointed out on Monday.

In a speech given in support of Virginia gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli, Paul referenced the 90s science fiction movie Gattaca. The Kentucky senator used the plot of Gattaca–a dystopian world in which eugenics is widely practiced– to attack pro-choice advocates. Even more bizarre than his choice of metaphor are the similarities between Paul’s speech and the Wikipedia page for Gattaca.

God is saying to stop quoting her

Democrat Terry McAuliffe has opened a double-digit lead over Republican Ken Cuccinelli II in the race for Virginia governor, in a new poll capturing increasing dissatisfaction among voters with Cuccinelli’s party and his conservative views.

The monster has escaped!

lite By Michael Isikoff, NBC News – Oct. 9. 2013

A letter, signed by the company’s chief lobbyist and sent to members of Congress, says that Koch Industries has taken no position on the shutdown dispute in Congress “nor have we lobbied on legislative provisions defunding Obamacare.”

Koch Industries Letter

What do you do when you invite a bunch of crazies to a party, and they start pitching the furniture through the window? What did Victor Frankensteinjohnson wisconsin 2 do when the monster escaped? What are the Koch Brothers to do when the tea party goes rogue? Um..quick, write a letter. Um…say that we had nothing to do with the government shut down. Oh, and say – “Koch has not taken the position the legislative tactic of tying the continuing resolution of defunding Obamacare nor have we lobbied on legislative provisions defunding Obmamacare.”

When did the Koch Bros. become the Pope of America?

Shame on the media. Shame on the Congress. A pox on all your houses. If any one action can be singled out as a positive reaction to the government shut down, it is the almighty, venerable Koch Brothers are finally forced out of their secret laboratory to come forward to admit that they created the monster. Oh, perhaps they lost control. Perhaps, the creature has been given the mind of a lunatic, but yes, the Koch Brothers created the insane entity that is terrorizing the country.

To keep the monster, horror analogy alive – Wisconsin has been the land of the living dead for over two years. After all, we literally have a “Walker”. Our Walker has created the most divisive political atmosphere in the Badger State in all it’s history. Now our Walker has disgorged the political conversation so that even Chris Mathews of MSNBC says that he is one of the Republican Governors that is interesting. He stuck to his guns and defeated unions. Chris is “walking dead” wrong and is speaking hollow ball from this pedestal of punditry about to be beaned by his own Hard Ball. Chis struck out.

Senator of the Koch living dead

The zombies have escaped from the Koch Industries lab and are spreading the ghoulish recipe for economic disaster through all the villages and hamlets of the country. Senator Ron Johnson is pictured above and right as the phallic symbol and progeny of the Koch scrotal sack. Now, he has gone all viagra on them. His organ of potential doom has been erect for well over four hours, and he will not call his doctor.

Salon Magazine Tuesday, Oct 8, 2013 By Josh Eidelson

Inside the mind of the Tea Party: Sen. Ron Johnson talks to Salon

Johnson pledged to vote against allowing an up-or-downvote on either a “clean” debt ceiling increase or Reid’s potential alternative, and urged the White House to start “trying to calm the markets” rather than “scare-mongering” about the consequences of not raising the debt ceiling, which he said “doesn’t have to be Armageddon if you did a little planning …”

Against the warning of Wall Street, the Chamber of Commerce, and even Johnson’s primal progenitors, the Koch Brothers, he continues to point to his small business in Wisconsin as the model for the balance sheet for the world economy?

Now, we know they are out there

The creators of the monster have alerted the villagers that the monster has gone rogue and are willing to risk the economic stability of the world economy for the sake of….what? Obamacare? The deficit? Holding office? Who knows?

What is clear is that the battle is redefined. It is not the Republicans vs. Democrats, conservatives vs. liberals, or Obama vs. Boehner – It is the tea party vs. the world economy.

How the Koch Brothers Stole America

How the Koch Brothers Stole America ACT 2

As you may remember from Act 1 which played out in December of 2011, the Koch Brothers had finally used their billions to buy Congress. The final soliloquy was delivered on the floor of the house with an eloquence that should line him up for the Congressional Metal of Honor.

Henry C. “Hank” Johnson Jr. (born October 2, 1954) is the U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 4th congressional district, serving since 2007.

It happened on the shortest day of the year. The Koch Bros. usurp the power of the House, the Senate, the President and the People of the United States.

On Dec. 20, 2011 the Congress of the United States was delivered to the Koch Brothers in a box – just in time for Christmas 2011.

Below is a short excerpt of the words spoken by Hank Johnson Dec. 20.The words were spoken after a long day of “debate” on the tax holiday extension. He came forward and spoke for a full hour before the final gavel of that days business.

Oh, there is a, sort of, cartoon! The clip begins with the famous “fake” call to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker from the reporter from Daily Beast who was posing as the real David Koch.

The billionaire brothers set out to prove that self interest and a healthy helping of money could create apolitical movement. Charles and David Koch set out to fool most of the people most of the time by manipulating the media to follow the rise of the tea party as a grass roots movement.

In ACT 2 they prove they control Public Television

Not only to the Brother’s Koch control Congress, but now they control the Public Broadcasting Service.

Aubrey Bloomfield in Politics 4 months ago

The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) has bowed to pressure from the powerful Koch brothers and declined to show a documentary critical of the Kochs and the role of money in American politics. The documentary, titled Citizen Koch and directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmakers Carl Deal and Tia Lessin, focuses on the Wisconsin uprising and the role played by big money interests such as the Koch’s in Governor Scott Walker’s 2010 election and his efforts to limit collective bargaining.

You’ve probably noticed how David Koch is a featured sponsor of “Nova”, and that sponsorship appears to entitle them to censor other program decisions. A great way to loosen the grips of the Brother Koch on Public Television is to withhold your contribution while clarifying that you will not give to the Koch Brother’s censored entity. Ted Cruz and Dr. Seuss

Senator Ted Cruz is often pointed outgreen eggs cruz as being the voice, the spearhead, the quarterback of team “Shut Down”. But who is the coach? The Koch Brothers! Cruz is dumb like a fox, and he knew precisely what he was doing in introducing “Green Eggs and Ham”(graphic at left from Democratic Underground.com) into his fake filibuster. He knew it would trend on twitter, freak on face book, and provide fodder for the 24 hour news cycle to spin, toss, and tumble for days to come.

Free Wisconsin will not be absolved from leaping on the “Dr. Sues” band wagon!

An original Dr. Suess channeled rendition of:

“How the Koch Brothers Stole America”.

<td width="15" bgcolor="green"

Here the Brothers will meet with leaders
Of wealth and power and crafty cheaters
It will be a tea party, or so they report
But the tea they are drinking is of a sort
That turns the drinkers nasty and mean
The nastiest nasties you’ve ever seen.

What is the plan these nasties have spun?
To invite any and all that will come
By saying they will get a piece of the pie
And many believe it, don’t ask me why.
Some were Senators and vote seeking creatures
Some judges, some lawyers, and even some preachers.

Oh but the nastier, nastiest plan of all
Was to bring them up and watch them fall.
The Littles were drawn up tempted by charms
They moved in long lines with tight locked arms.
Individual freedom was the chant they were singing
Yet they sung as a chorus joined in bringing
A rift of me against them and those against us
Until all here and there were caught in the fuss.

Oh, never has such a jagged, terrible riff
Been plotted and danced at the edge of a cliff.
But the Brothers knew well, this was their plan
To control their mountain and most of the land.
Oh how they chuckled as the Little’s drew near
The edge of the cliff, there goal was clear.

To push them off and watch them fall
Down to their depths like one big ball.

What is it about “equality” of pay, of control of one’s body, of the right to the pursuit of happiness – that the GOP House does not understand? The far-out views of GOP Representatives and Governors of Wisconsin, Michigan, Texas, Ohio, and Virginia have been satirized, booed, and provided fodder for the late-night take shows for the last two years until, now, when the GOP has finally descended below the respectability of monkeys.

It’s a hash tag. “House of Monkeys” is an apt description for Boehner and his cronies and a fitting hash take for the workings of the GOP lead House. It is also the name of my new play “House of Monkeys” – a musical romp through the live, work, and loves of Moliere.

You can read the opening scenes of “House of Monkeys” by clicking the “Moliere Play” .
You will arrive at the “Playful Blog” where you can hear a monkey speak the first few lines of the play.

“House of Monkeys” is a play in search of production. Any help you can provide to find a stage for its production we much appreciated.

We all need to laugh, and what better model for discovering our own grace for laughter than a man who relished laughter and comedy in his work above all else?

Tony Soprano Hero! Michael Hastings not so much

‘Actor James Gandolfini, who rose to fame as mob boss Tony Soprano on the hit HBO drama “The Sopranos,” died Wednesday of a possible heart attack while visiting Rome. He was 51.’

Mr. Gandolfini was a gifted actor and “The Sopranos” was a ground breaking series that deserves attention at the time of the death of the lead actor. Yet, on a time line of breaking news filled with tears and accolades for celebrity talents, the death of another notable genius fell in in the shadow of the fantasy mobster.

“News that journalist Michael Hastings died yesterday in a car crash in Los Angeles came as a shock to people who knew him, worked with him and read his work in the pages of Rolling Stone, among other places.”

The MSNBC anchors Chris Mathews, Chris Hayes, Rachel Maddow and others all stepped up to praise, honor, and applaudHastingsfiery the deep journalistic work and professional dedication to the truth of their departed colleague as the words and emotion expressed in the honorariums were touching and moving.

What is ironic, or suspicious, or downright weird is that not one of the eulogies of their respected colleague mentioned this:

Of Course Conspiracy

As news broke of the death of the journalist whose reporting consistently nipped at the heels of the high and holy and eventually brought down the career of U.S. commander in Afghanistan Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the first thought that entered many minds was, “hmm, I wonder how the accident happened?” No one mentioned the “fiery crash”, even as the million dollar, progressive, pundits looked into the camera to praise Michael Hastings as one of few, and perhaps the last, professional journalist who strove and dared to tell the unvarnished truth.

If I were a pundit, I would wonder what was going through the minds of Chris, Chris, Rachel, who left out the truthful tidbit of the fiery crash? It was deleted from the report, the eulogy, the respectful honorarium of the very man who refused to deny the truth to the people, as they went on and on lauding the courage, and honor of a real journalist who dared and accepted the fate of the truth-telling that they neglected to speak.

At least high profit and well branded journalism can recognize true journalism just as Tony Soparano could lead the double life of a Mafia gangster and respected family man.
