John Doe – What happened June 5, 2012 between 8 & 9 p.m.?

Investigating the Walker Recall ELection

At some tick of time between the hour of 8 and 9 p.m. on June 5, 2012 – there was a shock, a surprise, a shift in human reality across the State of Wisconsin.

For some it was a flow of elation, for others it was closer to hearing the news that your dad or your dog just died. Regardless of the emotional spasm of the moment and beyond all the political bluster, the abrupt “call” of the governor’s race was not expected by most. Not Walker supporters. Not Barrett supporters. The word on the street was to hunker in for a long night of nail biting and up and down pacing while following the returns of a close election.

On election day, the hopes of Barrett supporters were lifted to learn of the high turn out numbers, which generally bode well for Democrats. Walker supporters had seen poll numbers close in the days before the election and feared their Wauwatosa boy wonder might be toppled.

What Just happened?

The “What just happened?”diebold moment was the most common bipartisan experience since Scott Walker took office. Something strange happened. It happened to Republicans in the Racine Senate race, it happened to Democrats in the Gubernatorial race. What the heck happened?

“What just happened” was not pretty. It was a bipartisan realization, as deep as string theory, that the people were no longer in control.

Somehow, in the hour between 8 and 9 p.m., citizen confidence in their vote was punched in the gut. Somehow, technology and the media had trumped a process that forms the very basis of the American way of life – our vote.

The simple process that began with marking an “X” on a slip of paper and sliding it into a slot, had become a complex system of computer programing filled with words like “PROMPACKS (congaing both EPROM and RAM memory) for Optech ballots scanners, PCMICA memory cards for the M-series scanners (e.g. M100, M150, and M650), Compact flash memory for the TSX touch screen, SD memory for the AutoMark, etc.” (Quote from the page [Fraud “IT”] above).

The results of this algorithmic total are statistically predicted, well in advance of any complete or final tally, by exit polls compiled by major news organizations. In the case of the Recall election, the governor’s race was called while people were still standing in line and waiting to vote! Never mind that real people were still voting. Not important. The news moguls were in competition for the “first to call” status. ABC won! WOW! NBC followed shortly thereafter.

Conflicting early reports

Update 9:50 pm EST: NBC News is now reporting that Walker will win the recall election. With 21 percent of precincts in Walker is currently winning 61%-38%. Barrett’s strongest counties are still largely not reporting, but the projection is being made based on a combination of exit poll and early results which have come in. ABC WON! WOW! They called the election for Walker shortly after

Update 9:09 pm EST: Fox News now joins the chorus, reporting a race that is “too close to call” at this time.

Update 9:06 pm EST: Chuck Todd of NBC News says their exit poll data indicates a “coin flip” as to who will win.

Update 9:03 pm EST: CNN’s exit poll has a 50-50 split of the vote between Barrett and Walker.

Update 9:00 pm EST: Polls have now closed, but again those currently in line will still be allowed to vote. MSNBC is now calling the race “too close to call” at this time.

MILWAUKEE | Tue Jun 5, 2012 9:42pm EDT

(Reuters) – Exit polls show the Wisconsin recall election on Tuesday is essentially tied between Republican Governor Scott Walker and Democratic challenger Tom Barrett, CNN said.

The CNN data is based on interviews with voters after they cast ballots and not on actual results.

ABC WON Everyone else LOST

It is clear to the Supreme Court that ABC is a “person” who is more important than the late night voter standing in line determined to vote, but something even more insidious is working in the back rooms with locked doors where exit polls are tallied and altered. Yes…altered. They don’t use the word “altered” they call them “adjusted exit polls”

How are they altered or adjusted, Richard Charnin explains:

Walker Recall: The Exit Pollster’s MO Never Changes

Richard Charnin
June 9, 2012

The exit pollster’s MO never changes. In the recall, the pundits said it was “too close to call”. I’m quite sure that Barrett was winning, but the media knew the fix was in so they had to keep it close. They knew the actual exit poll numbers would not see the light of day. But they sure called it quickly for Walker, didn’t they?

The pollster’s have had plenty of experience in adjusting exit polls to match the vote count.

In 2004, preliminary state exit poll numbers were downloaded from the CNN website by Jonathan Simon. Kerry led by 50-48%. The state polls were already in the process of being matched to the recorded vote. But Bush was winning the vote count – a massive divergence from the exit polls.

We later learned that Kerry led the National Exit Poll from 4pm to midnight. At 4pm (8349 respondents) he led by 51-48%. At 730 pm (11027 respondents) by 51-48%. At 1222am (13047) by 51-47%. But we didn’t see these numbers. They were not meant for public viewing.

The next day, the CNN and NYT websites showed that Bush won the National Exit Poll (13660) by 51-48% – matching the recorded vote. How did the final 613 National Exit Poll respondents enable Bush to flip the vote? The exit pollsters never could answer that one. After all, the flip was mathematically impossible.

The unadjusted 2004 exit polls (state and national) were not released until about a year ago, long after the damage was done. And guess what? Kerry actually won the 13660 respondents! He had 7064 (51.7%), Bush 6414 (47.0%), Other 182 (1.3%).

Someday, probably in 2022, we’ll get to see the unadjusted recall exit poll numbers. In the meantime, here’s the 2004 National Exit Poll Timeline that was “not meant for public viewing”.

Adjusted Exit Polls

Covert Corporate (Persons) also Tabulate your vote – IN SECRET

Another more serious crack in the glass ceiling of denial split the surface in that hour between 8 and 9 pm on June 5. The part of the exit poll that was NOT adjusted didn’t make any sense. More people left the polls saying they supported Obama then Walker by 51-44%. Yet, Walker won. Read “Walker Recall Vote IMPOSSIBLE

We are still suffering from the backlash of the economic strain caused by Wall Street Greed. Do you think that elections are free of this same insatiable thirst for wealth and power? If 36 million dollars are invested in getting your vote on the front side of the election, don’t you think millions are available to steal your vote on the back side? Oh, there was plenty o’ cash available in Wisconsin. The recall was set up as a push against Obama by such players as Karl Rove.

The GOP is pretty sure that whatever happens is a precursor to how the state — and more blue collar worker states – will fare come the general election. “Karl Rove….argues that the results of Walker’s recall election and the margin of the vote will offer the first genuine clues as to whether Wisconsin’s political environment is similar to four years ago or has reverted to the nail-biter status of 2000 and 2004. ‘This will give a very clear indication of whether Wisconsin and the industrial Midwest will be up for grabs this year,’ Rove said.

Wisconsin Bellweather

Could your vote be bought?…EASY

When a state election plays out on the stage of national politics can you imagine how much money is available to “spread around”? But how could anyone manage to buy your vote without getting caught? Simple answer: There is no oversight of any kind. Voting Machine vendors like Command Central, who supply all the equipment, programming, and tabulation of your vote, do it in secret; without any oversight from any government agency, elected official, or branch of the judiciary. None. Does this remind you of the housing boom and Wall Street bankers in 2008?

The Classic “Divide and Conquer” Paradigm

The division between conservative and liberal or Republican and Democrat has never been more clearly divisive. The secrecy of vote machine vendors like Command Central(V.P. Larry Zins pictured left) is protected as the two sides are so focused on their opposing agendas, they dismiss or ignore the companies that count the vote secretly. Both parties fear launching recounts or investigations into the secret workings of these companies and view such actions as a political liability; that they will be viewed as a force who wants to destroy voter confidence and the American way of life. Yet, just as in the years before the Wall Street buyout, the opposite is true.

So we wait for the a new Fighting Bob. We look for a savvy politician with determination and courage to break through the denial, and to stand on the stump to declare, “Our most fundamental freedom, our vote, is threatened by lack of transparency, and secrecy that is intolerable under any constitution”. Meanwhile, it is just us. We the people of Wisconsin. We the people…period.

More and more citizens are becoming aware that our system of voting in Wisconsin is a mess and largely due to long 30 year tenure of Kevin Kennedy as the Administrator of the Government Accountability Board. read “Calling for the resignation of Kevin Kennedy

Some concerned citizens launched an effort to audit the vote of the Recall election to compare the digital machine totals to the ballots.(You may be surprised to learn that this comparison is not done unless there is an official recount, in fact, it is against the law to compare the paper trail to the digital machine count on the night of the election.) Unfortunately, the effort was fumbled by the group Wisconsin WAVE who arrived to spear head the effort without enough experience or skill to carry it through. WAVE has yet to account for the money collected for the recall audit or to provide any accounting for the abysmal failure of the effort.

Other citizens working independently of WAVE did audit votes in select wards in Madison and Milwaukee. At least one audit in Madison did suggest a possible flip of the vote.

Nobody knows…Everybody knows

Not one day, not one hour has passed since Scott Walker began his campaign for governor when a secret John Doe Investigation has not been active. Nobody knows exactly who or what might be the specific target or targets of the new and expanded version of John Doe.

Secret probe spreads to five Wisconsin counties
Possible violations during recall elections among issues

Daniel Bice – No Quarter – Oct. 21, 2013

A former top-level assistant U.S. attorney has been appointed a special prosecutor in a burgeoning, secret investigation into a wide variety of state issues, including possible campaign violations during the recent recall elections, multiple sources said.

Francis Schmitz — who spent nearly 30 years as a federal prosecutor and was once a finalist for U.S. attorney in Milwaukee — is leading the widespread John Doe probe, according to sources.

Nobody knows…

Nobody knew the specifics of the investigation when it was focused in Milwaukee. Nobody knows the specifics of the bigger and wider investigation now in progress.

Just as nobody knows what happened between 8 and 9 p.m. on July 5 of 2012.

Walker's Wisconsin – John Doe Act 2 Scene 2

New investigations of Scott Walker and friends

New probe investigating illegal actions, including campaign violations during the Senate and Governor’s recall elections.

Scene 2 – “Command Central”

The first post in the New John Doe Investigation covered the Americans for Prosperity illegal and fraudulent mailings during the Wisconsin Senate Recall Elections.

Today we will look at the election laws that were broken before and after the Scott Walker’s Recall election June 5, 2012. Just to be clear, this is not a conspiracy theory or an account of accusations based on conjecture. The elections laws that were broken and are referred to in the instances below, were documented. They were not covered in the main stream press.

Early send back of election materials

In the days after the June 5 Recall election I reported on my own attempt to satisfy my curiosity about the Recall Election outcome in Crawford County, which Walker won even though the county voted a comfortable win for Obama in ’08, Barrett in ’10, Shilling in the Senate recall election, yet, as in so many other rural areas in Wisconsin, Walker won Crawford County by 100+ votes.

So, one day, after the June 5 election I went to County Clerk’s office to get more information about the details, only to discover that the memory cards that hold the official vote count weren’t there; they had already been sent back to the vendor, Command Central,(pictured right) whose office is near St. Cloud Minnesota. They were sent back on June 14. This is a full week before the June 21 deadline when election materials are to kept secure, by law, for citizen inspection or the possibility of a recount. Read “Cartridges, Clerks, and Men in White Suits”.

The memory cards that held all the digital data of June 5 Recall election were not secure – they were gone.

Command Central has a Scary Secret

Command Central is the vendor for electronic voting machines in Crawford and many other counties throughout Wisconsin. Command Central is a private corporation that supplies election hardware and the programming and tabulation software that goes along with it. Yet, they have no real oversight by any government agency, elected official(s), or the judiciary. Therefore the corporation holds a very scary and unique secret that flies in the face of Democracy. In a country that was founded with a constitution to provide a proven structure of checks and balances among the three branches of government, Command Central has none.

Open Records Request

I presented Crawford County Clerk Giesler with on open records request for the return of the cartridges (memory cards) to which she responded, “You mean you want us to get these back?”. Surprise.

When I asked why they were sent back before the time when were to kept secure by law, she explained how the early send back practice came to be. It seems the County did hold the cartridges for the full “inspection period” in previous elections but it cost the county $40 to send them back by courier, so guess what? – Command Central had offered to store them for the county, promising to hold them until the “secure date” had lapsed.

Command Central’s contract includes a provision to abide by state statutes, yet, here they were, “offering” anonymous hackto have cartridges returned to them before the deadline detailed in the state statutes. No…no. What’s more, this cozy storage of cartridges, that occupy no more space than your top dresser drawer, was not unique to Crawford County. It was discovered that other county clerks throughout the state had also participated in this “early send back syndrome”.

After the discovery that Crawford County had sent back memory cards before the 21 day period [GAB 5.02 WI stats. 7.23(1)(g)],Free Wisconsin teamed up with John Washburn Investigations and Marrianne Moonhouse to further investigate the “early send back syndrome”. The forty-five Wisconsin Counties, who use Command Central’s SEQ-AVC Edge II DRE touch screen machines, were sent open record requests to inspect the memory cards for each polling place in each county under [WI stats. 19.31-19.39].

As a result, it was further discovered that 23 counties had sent back memory cards early. Not only were the memory cards vacated from the County Clerks’ offices but they were sent out-of-state to Command Central’s office in St. Cloud, Minnesota. This is illegal. This was against the law. Yet, no one was ever reprimanded or punished for the infraction. It was not even covered in the press.

When Vice President of Command Central, Larry Zins heard about all of the open record requests to the clerks, he composed the letter below to provide “incentive” to getting the materials returned.

County Clerks:

I’m afraid that we must add at least one more step to our preparation for the August 14th Partisan Primary. Because of the high volume of active Open Records Requests that are circulating throughout the state, we must ask you to confirm (by replying to this email) that Command Central is authorized to burn the June 5th media (cartridges and memory packs) with the August 14th programming. We request this confirmation whether or not you have shipped the media back to us already or not.

For those of you who have not sent your media to us, the results cartridges and memory packs MUST be in our possession by Monday, July 16th. We must put a “deadline” date on this request in order to perform our processes most efficiently and ensure timely delivery of the media to the municipalities or counties, whichever the case may be. Our hope is that none of you are required to purchase additional media, but for those municipalities/counties that must “hold” the June 5th media, extra cartridges are available for sale at $200 each and extra memory packs are available at $300 for Optech Eagles and $450 for Optech Insights.

Larry Zins
Vice President
Command Central, LLC

The illegitimate threat of penalties

I was informed that my request to hold the memory cards under the open records request would cost the taxpayers of Crawford County over 12k and that information would be made public.

The taxpayers of Crawford County must now incur costs of $12,400 so that all new cartridges can be burned for the August primary election. I will be providing the Crawford County Independent with the costs for the cartridges as they have requested this information.

So on June 16, 2012 County Clerks throughout the State of Wisconsin boxed up the digital results of the June 5 recall election vote to be “burned”, all based on a threat from a private corporation with no transparency and whose vice president was deposed and admitted that the charges have no legitimacy. Read “thanks Larry’s” deposition for the Circuit Court of Wisconsin on how the charges for memory cards are determined. See testimony regarding charges for memory cards page 17 of document.

Perhaps the John Doe investigation is looking into how 23 County Clerks violated state statutes regarding the handling of election materials? Was the early send back coincidence or was it orchestrated by some other outside group, like the group that sent out fraudulent vote information before the Senate recall election?

Oh and there is more. More laws were broken in the lead up to the June 5 Recall election. Watch this space.

Walker's Wisconsin – Now playing John Doe Act 2

New investigations of Scott Walker and friends

New probe investigating illegal actions, including campaign violations during the Senate and Governor’s recall elections.

John Doe investigations have been etch indictthe most consistent and on-going news from the Administration of Scott Walker. The original John Doe investigation began as Walker took office and continued for over two years.

John Doe rises again like a bad penny that has been stuck in the vending machine of political flimflam only to be found in the coin-return slot still bearing the date of its mint. Kelly Rindfleisch was sentenced on November 19th, 2012 to six months in jail and three years of probation for her role in rising Walker to power.

Kelly keeled, Walker walked, and all the lawyers talked and talked. Now, here we go again with John Doe Act 2, and at a most inopportune time for the “Walker who walked” as he is up for re-election next November, and his name is included in conversation as a presidential candidate in 2016.

Secret probe spreads to five Wisconsin counties

Sources familiar with the probe told the Journal Sentinel that it was scrutinizing a wide variety of state-related issues, including the recall races. Sources suggested the probe is looking at a current legislative leader and the governor’s contest.

“This is activity that occurred since the 2010 election,” said a source.

New Investigation is statewide

One thing we know about John Doe investigations is that they are secret – investigations are conducted, witnesses are interviewed, and evidence is examined under John Doe’s dark cloak. Just in time for Holloween!

Here we go again. In this new investigation, no one seems to know exactly who or what the focus might be or even when it began, not even Walker’s recall opponent, Tom Barret or his chief of staff, Patrick Curley. Of course, the problem with a secret investigation is that human beings are curious. They want to play “who dunnit” and will conjecture as to what is rotten in the state of Wisconsin’s recall elections…and there was plenty!

People who followed and audited the Senate and Gubernatorial recall elections cried foul and threw up the penalty flags on any number of occasions, so over the next days, let us look under the hood at the flagged questionable acts and review the play.

The Wisconsin Sportsman grant subject of criminal intent

For today Let’s begin with the Wisconsin Sportsmen.

To begin at the beginning, where the Journal Sentinel and other major news outlets neglect to tread, the very first manifestation of the Wisconsin Sportsmen of America group did not erupt last month or last week aswalker boxer most news outlets reported. By most published accounts the story begins quite recently, with the ever suspicious circumstances surrounding the creation, application, award, and cancellation of the $500,000 grant to the group. In fact, the story begins in June of 2011.

The original mysterious workings of the Sportsmen was connected with Americans for Prosperity (AFP) and vote fraud in the days before the Senate recall elections in June of 2011. AFP mailed false information to voters across the state to misinform the public and suppress the vote in that election. The Sportsman did a mailing at the same time, and even though the date was correct, the physical mailing is suspiciously similar. Did the Sportsman mailing with the correct address go to republicans and the mailing with the false address go to democrats? A similar vote caging scheme by AFP was recorded:

In October 2012, One Wisconsin Now, a progressive group, obtained undercover audio recording of the meeting of a local Tea Party group, the Grandsons of Liberty, in which a vote-caging scheme was laid out that involved mailers that AFP agreed to send out to voters in left-leaning districts in Milwaukee. The addresses were provided via the Republican Party of Wisconsin, through the state’s Voter Vault…In the vote-cage scheme, mailers were sent in August to districts in which much of the housing was in college dormitories. They had “do not forward” instructions printed on the outside, so that the votes of those whose flyers bounced back to AFP could be challenged at the polls.

Yet, you will find no mention of the mailings in the more current stories, even though the instances were documented in regional and county press coverage at the time:

North Hudson Man Files Voter Suppression Complaint Against Americans For Prosperity

Posted by Micheal Foley , August 02, 2011

When Charles Shultz received an absentee ballot application form in the mail on Thursday, July 28, it didn’t take long before he found something fishy with it.
Shultz wrote the following on the complaint form:

I received an absentee ballot request form from Americans For Prosperity. It intentionally listed to return up to Aug. 11. The date of the election is Aug. 9. If I followed their instructions, my ballot would not be legal. I think they purposely intended to discount my vote. I understand such activity to be against the law. I believe I was targeted by this group because I am a Democrat and a senior citizen.Hudson Patch

From the Crawford County Independent – Thursday, August 4, 2011
by Erin Martin

Robocall, repeat surveys, and confusing absentee ballot applications are all part of the new politics as Wisconsin heads toward an unprecedented eight recall elections in the next two weeks. What to do? You might try to ignore them all and follow your commons sense.

Rolling Ground Resident Displays Fraudulent Mailing
Lamar Janes holds the suspicious absentee ballot application received by his wife on Saturday. Neither Janes nor his wife Lynda Shaller are members of American For Prosperity as the accompanying letter states. The application he’s holding states clearly absentee ballots must be submitted to “city clerks” by August 11. However, absentee ballots cannot be submitted after the election, which is scheduled for this Tuesday, August 9.

AFP Mailer Sent to More Than Just Two Districts

As reported in the Brad Blog The Americans for Prosperity Wisconsin director Matt Seaholm tried to explain the mailings false information away by claiming the incorrect date was little more than a simple a “typo” and that the mailing “just went out to our members.” He added that he was “sure the liberals will try to make a mountain out of a molehill in an attempt to distract voters’ attention from the issues.”

Americans for Prosperity sent misleading absentee ballot far more widely than previously known
8/05/2011By Greg Sargent
Now AFP has sent out a new email to supporters — forwarded by a labor source — that seeks to clarify the situation. And it appears to acknowledge that the misleading ballot was actually sent to all six districts where Republicans are facing August 9th recalls. Here’s the key part:

“Recently, Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin sent a mailer to provide our members, like you, with the opportunity to vote by way of absentee ballot. The absentee ballot mailing was mailed only to AFP-Wisconsin members in the eight Senate Districts that have recall elections. The return date included on the absentee ballot application (August 11th) was intended solely for the two senate districts with elections on August 16th. However, the printer sent that version out to all districts, including those that have elections on August 9th.”

Note that AFP’s new email blames the printer for sending out the ballot to all districts. Even more interestingly, AFP is using the controversy over its own misleading of voters as a rallying point to get out the vote for Republicans.

The Washington Post

The “reported” story

As mentioned earlier, the reported history of the Sportsmen group is just a few weeks old, and smacks of the same cagey, crony, creepy maneuvering as the mailing scheme. The $500,000 grant

1) United Sportsmen was the only applicant for the award.

2) The carefully crafted grant requirements were unanimously voted into the state budget in May after just seven minutes of discussion.

3) United Sportsmen falsified its 501(3)(c) status on the grant application.

4) United Sportsmen has a scant record of any involvement in promoting hunting of fishing.

5) Sept 5 – Late Thursday Gov. Scott Walker canceled a controversial $500,000 grant to a sportsmen’s group with little training experience but close ties to GOP politicians.JS Online By Jason Stein and Patrick Marley of the Journal Sentinel

The latest nail in the coffin of deceit

Republican legislators gamble with losing $28 million in annual federal money because the DNR would not have adequate control of how the grant funds were used – AND they kept this information hidden when the bill was slammed through and put in the budget in seven minutes. DNR officials alerted then-Assembly Majority Leader Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford) and Assistant Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) to the federal government’s concerns before the Assembly adopted the budget, according to the DNR.

They did not tell any member of the opposition party about how the grant to the Sportsmen of $500,000 would trigger a loss of $28 million dollars to the taxpayers of Wisconsin? And these are supposed to be the leaders of the Assembly? Does the recent resignation of Scott Suder as Assembly Leader have anything to do with this giant leap into cutting off the face to save the nose? And we are supposed believe that Scott Walker did not know about the overwhelming loss of federal money that was at stake? He regards the Feds as his loyal subjects and has a history of snubbing their authority as shown in his disregard of the warnings of the Federal Housing and Urban Development who repeatedly threatened to withhold funds from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation because of what? – not having adequate control!

The press headlines Walker as a hero? “Veto saved state 28 million”

The same major media that has ignored the full story and history of the Sportsmen is now applauding Walker for his insight for canceling the grant. Scandal clean-up on aisle 11! And 15! – How the United Sportsmen scandal is getting scrubbed by the press.

Walker’s motive is to stay thirty feet away from the Sportsmen group

The Journal Sentinel will find the truth thirty Andyfeet down the hall from the ticket received by Andy Pantzlaff (pictured right) for illegal hunting – the ticket noted by the press as the primary reason why Walker vetoed the grant. Mr. Unintimidated would not cancel the grant for misdemeanor but he may very well want to remain down the hall and thirty feet away from an investigation of a felony for vote fraud.

Walker's Wisconsin "6th Worst Governor"

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington names Walker the 6th worst governor in America

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) according to its website, is “dedicated to promoting ethics and accountability in government and public life by targeting government officials who sacrifice the common good to special interests.”
Cap Times

CREW offers a detailed report on the evaluation. The short list is itemized in the 7 points below and you can read the full report through the PDF link at the bottom.

Short list

Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) was elected in 2010 and won a recall election in 2012. He is running for re-election in 2014. His inclusion stems from:
(1) using his office to promote donors’interests;
(2) illegally using state troopers to track down his political opponents;
(3) an investigation into illegal activity by his aides;
(4) diverting money from a nationwide mortgage settlement;
(5) an investigation into the state economic development corporation he chairs;
(6) dismissing a political appointee for signing the recall petition against him; and
(7) advocating for new voter identification restrictions.

CREW Analysis PDF

The people of Wisconsin have suffered through all of the itemized actions of Scott Walker since 2010, but missing from the list is the most annoying and clawing of Walker’s behaviors. Some call it arrogance, some say it’s hypocrisy, still others just call him a sneak and a liar. Yet, what is baffling, and hand wringing frustrating, is that his most recent approval rating remains at 48%! The question is, how is this possible? And we run down the list of rationalizations for the rating that seems way too high. Is it because he has the money to control his message and most people do not look or research beyond the headlines? Has Wisconsin really turned that much more red, and if so, why did Obama carry the state in the last election?

I don’t have an answer, but can only continue to dramatize the hypocrisy of Scott Walker. This time with a slide show in which the images are contrasted to quotes that are lifted from CBN’s Brody File, a major conservative evangelical listening-post. Some time ago it published a series of excerpts from interviews with WI Gov. Scott Walker.

You can read the full interview at the bottom of the post.

People ask all the time, to Tonette [his wife] and I, how do you get through this? It’s just really prayer. It’s the prayers that we have as a family, that we have individually, and the prayers that people tell us about

People ask all the time, to Tonette [his wife] and I, how do you get through this? It’s just really prayer. It’s the prayers that we have as a family, that we have individually, and the prayers that people tell us about. And those that we don’t even hear about, but we feel people all around our state and really all around the country, that people go out of their way to lift us up, and it’s just, it has been so amazing to us, and really as a family, I think it has made us stronger. We realize that all this is just a temporary thing and God’s got a plan for us that, who knows where it might be, beyond just serving as Governor of this state, but if we stay true to that, there’s always comfort. And God’s grace is always abundant no matter what you do, and it’s just every step of the way. In fact our Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, she asked me about this the other day, she’s just been spectacular as well. She asked me, she said, Scott, do you feel like you’re living your faith strong enough? She was asking me about this on a trip we were on. And I said yeah, the interesting thing is for me, it’s not just about going out and quoting scripture, it’s in how you live. And what I’ve tried to do over this past year is even at the moments of the peak of the attacks and the incivility and everything else, to make sure what I did was calm, it was reasoned, and that I was responding in kind. .Washington Monthly

Walker's Wisconsin Sinking, Sliding, going Down

Just a year ago Walker survived the recall election which he used as an excuse for the failing job numbers in Wisconsin.

June 6, 2012

Instead, the night provided a huge boost for Walker — as well as Republicans in Washington and state capitals who have embraced the same energetic, austere brand of fiscal conservatism as a solution for recession and debt. New job numbers fuel debate over Gov. Walker’s economic record
By Craig Gilbert of the Journal Sentinel
May 16, 2013

How is Walker doing compared to his campaign promise? The state is on a pace to fall far short of adding 250,000 more private-sector jobs over four years. According to the new numbers released by the Walker administration, Wisconsin added 62,072 private-sector jobs in 2011 and 2012 combined.

At this rate, Wisconsin will get about halfway toward the governor’s target by the end of his first term in December of 2014:

Wisconsin quietly slides in CNBC business ranking

When CNBC came out with its “Top States for Business” rankings last year, it got loads of press coverage in Wisconsin. The reason? Wisconsin broke into the Top 20 for the first time ever, jumping eights slots to No. 17. Gov. Scott Walker — fresh off his recall victory — penned a column for the report, saying how his policies were already having an impact. But the new 2013 CNBC ranking which came out last week showing Wisconsin falling back to No. 22 was scarcely mentioned in state media. There was no press release from Walker’s office, nothing from Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, although the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation did issue a statement noting the state stayed in the top 25.

WEDC Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation was to be the engine of job creation

WEDC was to be the blueprint for Neoconservative efficiency – the flagship of the new Walker reform of reforms to allow for the lofty goal of creating jobs, jobs, jobs. Infact, the WEDC is Walker. It exemplifies his vision, his arrogance, his philosophy of reform of government. WalkerarrestA risen County Executive was arrogant enough to decide to abandon and demolish a major department of government, the 35 year old Department of Commerce, to make way for his concept of neocon reform. So it was that the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. (WEDC) was created in February of 2011 by the state GOP controlled Legislature and Walker. Five months later, on July 1st – the flagship of reform took over the economic development functions of the old and antiquated Department of Commerce. Since then, the timeline of crisis and confusion at WEDC reads like that of a patient in cardiac arrest. The shuffling and continuous reorganization of major players within the department occurs with such rapid frequency that it is difficult to keep track of, but to get a feeling for what failure looks like you might want to read – Wisconsin – Walker’s reform school

The WEDC is Walker

WEDC reflects all that is Walker with all the mirrors and glimmers of a man who thinks he knows better and is willing to risk his political future, his administration, and the welfare of the people of Wisconsin on his conceptual idea of government. Perhaps, that is why many people, whose principles of conservative ideals, stand with him. The only problem with this picture is that when you go for broke, you may well end up with the result you gamble with, and from all indications when looking at the WEDC’s short history, it is moving job creation, federal grant funding, and Walker over the cliff and taking all the people of Wisconsin with it.

The Undoing of Walker

As opponents of Walker’s policies protested, recalled, and looked to the John Doe investigation to bring justice to the arrogant “I know better” personality of Scott Walker, only now can they see how he was slowly building and documenting his own destruction all along and right before everyone’s eyes. For the WEDC is his baby. The baby to which he cannot deny paternity or claim he had no knowledge of. He cannot blame his WEDC for his failure of job creation since he created it. It just sits there as one of the most stunning failures in the history of Wisconsin government, and all the money in the world cannot erase the structure of failure that is falling around this would-be candidate for President of the Unite States.

Your place in Walker's Wisconsin

When Walker (born November 2, 1967) became 45th Governor of Wisconsin on January 3, 2011 with 52% of the vote – what were your hopes for the future?

The question is a general one. A non-partisan one. Your honest answer is vital to the future of hopes for your children and grand children as they create their lives in all the villages, cities, and counties of Wisconsin.

We all know that our friends, our wealthpiccommunities, our school children are not soley identified as Republican or Democrat, Red or Blue, they are just people, they are Wisconsinites, who share the dream of creating a better, more equatable and kind world for children to learn and grow in safety as they reach for the realization of so many unique and individual dreams.

Here is the mistake

I got lost. Most of us got lost. We allowed a figure head position to hold our voice, our future, and act as the determinant path finder for our children’s lives. That mythical figure head may have been materialized by Walker, or Barrett, or Union rights, or Tea Party, or…or…or.

It is now closing in on two years since Walker’s oath of office and a full year since the Recall Election of June 5 2012 which Walker survived with 53% of the vote. The next Wisconsin gubernatorial election will take place on Novemeber 4, 2014. What have we all learned? What are your hopes for the future?

We don’t know, what we don’t know

Somewhere in the background of GOP vs Democrat, and Red vs Blue, and “Stand With” vs “Recall” Walker is a startling fact that we “the people” don’t know. The people have become active politiholics in a state of denial who fail to recognize the root of our problem. Like anything obvious, it will be seen first… or last.

It isn’t Walker, or unions, or Red or Blue. If the divisive storm that has overcome our perception can be compared to a marital divorce that is a battle of emotion when the root cause of the strife of relationship is addiction or alcoholism, then we can begin to understand the politiholic addiction that has afflicted all of the people over the past two years. In some ways, we have all been through an ugly divorce characterized by protests, recalls, court proceedings, all resulting in deep emotional, political scares. And, just as we can see the obvious when looking from the outside at the experience of our friends who have been through rough and tumble divorce proceedings, we have missed the point – the deeper, underlying and faceless problem that has lead us astray.

Perception of Reality…Now you can KNOW

One of the refreshing facts you are about to learn, is that the problem is not directly about Walker. It’s not about unions. The political icons we have supported, protested, or applauded are mere lumps on the body politic, and a biopsy of the cancer under the lump may well prove to unite the people in a manner not thought possible. The fear of what hides under the lumps, the unknown or undiscovered reality, has moved the people to create enemies of one for the other. According to the facts of the video, you are about to learn something you did not know – if you dare.

Wealth Distribution in America

The Reality of what we think the wealth distribution is in this country is not even close to what it actually is.

I hope you felt better after discovering something you falsely perceived or did not know. It seems we are all wrong to allow standard barriers and conceptual icons to hold the hope of our future. At first glance, the correction may seem to merely reinforce all of the divisive emotion of the past two years, yet it also suggests the possibility for unity around the deeper, more pervasive problem.

How will this obvious and dangerous imbalance be corrected? How does the need for correction fit into the larger question of, “What are your hopes for the future?”.

Walker's Weakest Moment – Time for a KNOCKOUT!

Politically Empowered Ethically Dead

Walker is on the defensive in the John Doe Investigation. He has no mandate. Walker’s major legislative achievements, curtailment of collective bargaining and the voter ID law, have been held unconstitutional, his Mining Bill failed, ALEC has been exposed. His line of credit, the Koch Bothers, have become the laughing stock of late night TV. His job creation record is the worst in the nation, and he is being sued for 45 million by the Talgo train maker. His stall of health care reorganization has come back to haunt with Romney’s loss. His right leaning ideas – tax breaks for the wealthy, government is the problem, the call for repeal of Obamacare – have been deflated in the national conversation with Obama’s win. All these hard-fought victories – all of these remarkable and empowering achievements have left Walker weak and on the ropes.

And progressives weep in consternation at their half-full glass. They have lost control of the senate.

Make the final blow. Take him down for the count.

Progressives are blindly fulfilling the preachings of Ann Coulter and Fox News pundits who claim that liberals will always whine and moan over the dark spots on the moon. The current focus is on the one dark spot on the full moon of accomplishment and victorious achievement.

Dems have the real power. Progressives have the grass roots message that harmonizes with the national conversation, but seem to be afraid to sing. So, how is it that Walker has been taken to the ropes? Why have the major legislative jewels in his crown turned out to be paste? Look very closely. The emperor has no clothes and is about to lose his fig leaf. Yet, the focus and fear on losing the senate seems to have legislators staring at their hands – they dare not speak while Walker is still wearing the crown.

Fired Up – Ready to go

If I were a Dem legislator I would be developing strategies to launch the final blow to the head of a weakened and wobbling opponent. This is not time for hand sitting and waiting for the stumbling contender to cross the ring, before the attack. The mistake would be to wait to react. Now is the time to get, “Fired up – Ready to go!”. Time to take action, make a move. Trust and use the progressive base on the offensive. The base is ready to be lead. Get creative. Take action. We have your back.

Union Busting, Malfeasance, how about INCOMPETENCE?

Wisconsin Chooses Chaos

The state houses in Pennsylvania, Oregon, New Hampshire Colorado, New York, Maine were all controlled by Republicans. After the Nov. 6 election all those states shifted. The voters spoke to end the GOP majority and the super majority in those state legislatures. They had enough of a one sided political avalanche of ALEC written bills to enact voter ID laws, limit a woman’s right to control her own body, and limit workers from organizing for work place safety and wages.

But not Wisconsin. After, a few sweet months of peaceful balance in the Wisconsin legislature while Democrats were allowed a voice in the state senate for the first time since Walker and the Fitzgerald Brothers took control of the executive and legislative branches of state government – Wisconsin voters spoke.

All of that will change on New Year’s Eve when the GOP will take control of two branches of government all over again.

Are Wisconsin voters are stupid?

Our fine senator from the State of Wisconsin, Ron Johnson, would argue this outcome is all about stupid voters. Well, in a way. He pointed his accusing finger at Wisconsin voters saying they were “uninformed”. Oh, not for the choice to return a GOP majority to the state house, but to keep Obama and send Tammy Baldwin to the senate.

Johnson attributed Obama’s win on the heels of those Republican gains in Wisconsin to an uninformed electorate who voted in this election but not in the [Scott] Walker recall.

“If you aren’t properly informed, if you don’t understand the problems facing this nation, you are that much more prone to falling prey to demagoguing solutions. And the problem with demagoguing solutions is they don’t work,” Johnson said. “I am concerned about people who don’t fully understand the very ugly math we are facing in this country.” Huffington

So Ron, in his masterful command of logic, posits that stupid voters only make there uninformed choice in national elections. Yep, he is our Senator. When you point a finger at the stupid voters there are three fingers pointing back at you – there is some “very ugly math” for you.

The Wrong Argument for Recall

Walker is one of the most ineffectual leaders in Wisconsin History

It’s been said that human beings discover the obvious either first or last. The target issue for the recall of Scott Walker was painted by the press as a bulls eye of union busting. The first circle out of the bulls eye was John Doe, and that “he was the only governor with a legal defense fund”. Malfeasance and union busting seemed so obvious at first.

Now, comes the latent discovery – the final obvious fact glares at us after the vote was cast: incompetence

I will develop strategies for creating 250,000 new jobs by 2015

That was the promise of Governor Scott Walker made when he took office and remains on line as a pdf brochure to sell his “Wisconsin is open for business” plan for job creation in Wisconsin. The bottom line of the graph shows Walker’s job creation performance compared to that of other states.See large image of Walker job performance graph HERE Walker Jobs

After two years in office – look at the graph. Wisconsin shows one of the lowest job growth rates in the country. Does it look like he is on track to fulfill his promise? This is not Republican or Democrat – it is math. The math equation is Promise Minus Performance = INCOMPETENCE

High Speed Rail Put Jobs in Walker’s Hands

The job creating deal was all signed, sealed, and delivered. The train maker Talgo had already invested in a plant to build train sets in Wisconsin. It was a “done” deal. One of the first moves Walker made was to abandon the plan and kill the thousands of jobs in Wisconsin.

The video below is dramatization of one of the most job destructive decisions ever made by a governor of Wisconsin.

Why did Walker reject high speed rail?

The job creating potential of Talgo, that was already in place in Milwaukee and looking ahead to years of production, was seen as such an obvious beacon in the dark tunnel of economic woe that Gov. Pat Quinn of Illinois immediately laid out a red carpet for Talgo with a willingness of circus puppy.

Broken Contracts

Now Talgo is Suing Walker for 42 Million Dollars

A manufacturer has sued Gov. Scott Walker and is claiming it does not have to turn over two new train sets that have cost the state more than $42 million.

The state agreed in 2009 to buy two new train sets from Talgo Inc. for Amtrak’s Hiawatha line, which runs from Milwaukee to Chicago, but Walker’s administration and Republicans in the Legislature have repeatedly clashed with the firm since last year.Talgo Sues WSJ Online

Is it possible for a leader to be so blinded by political principles he would completely miss the obvious path to his own stated goals and reject a job creation deal because it was the idea of a political adversary?

The equation might be: Jobs minus Non-partisanship=INCOMPETENCE

Health Care

“Obamacare is now the law of the land” – John Boehner Speaker of the House

Walker’s myopic vision of his personal and party agenda is stuck inside a box. It is a caged animal clawing for escape shredding the institutions and traditions of government. He has rejected Obama Care at every turn. He has delayed and denied any preparation for the Health Care Law enactment. Just because you don’t like or agree with the plans to build a dam downstream, it would be foolish not to raise the height of your boat dock. Not Walker. It’s not the way he works. He is not a leader who takes into consideration the welfare of the family of people he serves. He knows better. If he determines an idea like Obamacare is the dam that will cause a rise in the deficit, he will prove it by letting the people drown.

Madison — Barack Obama’s re-election win poses a political conundrum for Gov. Scott Walker over how to handle the president’s signature health-care law.

The victory for the president and the return of the Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate means Obamacare will remain the law of the country. But Walker decided late last year to stop planning to implement the health-care law in Wisconsin, preferring instead to hold out for an Obama defeat and a repeal of the law.

Now the state will have to scramble if it wants to put in place a virtual marketplace, or exchange, required by the law to allow consumers and small businesses to purchase health coverage.

By Nov. 16, states need to inform the federal government whether they’ll implement their exchanges themselves or leave it up to federal officials to decide how to do that, said Bobby Peterson, head of the Madison nonprofit ABC for Health. The exchange would need to be in place by the beginning of 2014.

“If they (have to) put something in, it’ll be rushed. They admit it doesn’t have stakeholder input and it’d be a half-hearted effort and that’s too bad,” Peterson said of the Walker administration. Walker Health Care Dilemma

The math might be: Reality minus Preparation=INCOMPETENCE

How do you deal with incompetence?

It isn’t like the people haven’t tried. The people of Wisconsin have been offered three separate opportunities, two recall elections followed by a general election, to correct the pattern of incompetence. It is said that politics changes like the weather, which gives us hope for the development of a high-road pressure system that might give the much needed rain on the dry dessert of poor decisions and partisan power grabbing on the fractured soil of Wisconsin.
